NUREMBERG, GERMANY − March 29-31, 2011 – Car manufacturers and coatings formulators can expand their color portfolio with Palomar® Alpha Blue 60, a reddish blue high performance effect pigment for coatings that can maintain its color properties for years under the impact of sunlight and other harsh weather conditions.
In addition to its strong weather fastness capabilities, Sun Chemical Performance Pigments’ Alpha Blue 60 can be used in both water and solvent systems for OEM, refinish automotive and industrial coatings.
Alpha Blue 60 pigments have the added benefits of excellent viscosity and easy dispersion, and its unique transparency and travel provide the visual appearance that is required for red shade blues used in metallic and effect automotive coatings.
“Today’s automotive market is not only looking for new color offerings that will both catch the eyes of consumers and be cost effective, they also need pigments that can maintain those colors in the harshest of weather conditions” said Scott Heitzman, Product Manager, Sun Chemical Performance Pigments. “Alpha Blue 60 pigments do just that. They expand the color gamut with its unique red shade indanthrone and maintain that color for years even in the harshest weather.”
Palomar Alpha Blue 60 pigments will be on display at the European Coatings SHOW 2011 in Nuremberg, Germany on March 29-31 at Sun Chemical’s booth, located in Hall 10, Stand 117.
